Shifting times asking for renewed terms and conditions

It is always said that UK and India have a long history trading stuff and cargo to India from UK and vice versa of 71 years, true, but what about now? It is a different century with many changes within the countries and education standards being raised and equalled.

India has now evolved as a developed trade unit and placed itself as a true struggler that has really worked strategically in this direction and achieved its goals exactly as planned. The UK, on the other hand, has an increased number of people working within its boundaries who came from India which is now showing its effects in the country.

The talks of any new agreements have increased and the recent meeting between prime minister May and Moodi have not given any positive signs. India is insisting on its student’s visa policy and on the other hand Theresa May is even more determined to protect the independent status of her country.

But will this strategy prove to be fruitful for future relations is becoming a question? Will the history remain so or there is something going to change.

Why is India feeling insecure?

The not so positive response of Britain on student visas and check on Sikh nationalist makes things complicated. Then according to growing perception UK is getting closer to Pakistan which is not a point of comfort for India.

But the thing to consider is that when you ask too much it is always rejected and this is what is happening in case of Indian business proposals as well as many other deals. There have been 26 agreements signed from cyber security to nuclear but you are asking for a free movement which is not even agreed to keep the security intact.

It is being said that post Brexit period is proving to be about savage of sovereignty and violation of law but not about extending bilateral ties.

Is the UK favouring Chinese students?

There has been an allegation that Britain is exempting Chinese students from giving an English language test. Indians place themselves as saviours of English language and there are a growing number of English authors also.

This is where it is been asked to place Indian students visas in the special categories that have been rejected repeatedly. There were already many relaxations in the visa policy for Indians and now more are not being permitted.

And the allegations of favouring Chinese students are totally being rejected by the UK government saying that there is no relaxation in the said standard.

Entry rate of Indians in the UK

There are still a large number of students that enter UK boundaries. In 2017-18 89% of Indian nationals succeeded in getting the British visa. There are a large number of Indians working especially in the IT departments and many are on well-off posts.

The sections where work on combined bases is needed are security and armed forces exercise. Reform is what India should concentrate upon as India is still lacking in this area.

The ones who are poor do not get any facility or better living conditions and same is the case in lawsuits. These areas need to be concentrated upon and this is where help is needed.
